    Panic as Two Teens Missing for over two weeks in Wakiso

    Police are searching for two teens who went missing over two weeks ago in Wakiso District.

    “On April 27, 2023, two children, identified as Vianney Mukisa, a 13-year-old pupil, and Congole Israel, also known as Lucky, a 13-year-old pupil of Congolese nationality and refugee status, went missing from their respective homes in Kazinga Village, Wakiso Subcounty, Wakiso District,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire.

    He said the children were close friends and attended Umea Primary School in Wakiso.

    “They disappeared when together,” said Owoyesigyire.

    Police usually attribute such incidents to carelessness by some parents.

    Vianney MukisaFamily members said they feared for the teens’ lives.

    “We have really searched everywhere,” said a family member who didn’t want to be name for privacy concerns, “But we have failed to trace these children.”

    “We don’t know what to do next because we are not even sure if they are live,” the source observed, adding, “And we really don’t understand how they disappeared of if someone kidnapped them.”

    Owoyesigyire said police have mounted “an extensive search operation for the missing children”, adding, “The Nansana Police Division, in collaboration with relevant authorities and community members, is diligently working to locate and ensure the safe return of Vianney Mukisa and Congole Israel.”

    He also urged “anyone with any information related to the whereabouts of these children or any details that may assist in the investigation to come forward and report to the nearest police station or contact the following dedicated helpline: 0779517783.”
