NRM party youth leaders have put mayor Vicent Kayanja Depaul on trigger-point to give account of the food stuffs that where donated by city tycoon Joel Kawooya.The party youth including one Joshua Kuteesa and Tibamanya Robert on Tuesday launched an attack on the town boss after receiving a food consignment of 1500kgs of posho and 300kgs of sugar to be given the elderly and the disabled. The items were delivered by one city business man Ezra Nabimanya to the Mayor’s office before handing them over to the National Taskforce headed by the area RDC Haji Njuki Mbabali. The Uganda Red Cross Society Entebbe Branch Chairperson Robert Kiggundu said during the handover ceremony at the RDC’s office that “The food we have received today through the office of the RDC and Mayor’s office handed of 1500kgs of posho and 600kgs of sugar is to given to people with disabilities and the elderly as we wait for the office of the prime minister to bring food to Entebbe”. Health Nest Uganda CEO Authur Namara said that “older persons are at significantly greater risk of complications from the coronavirus and case fatality rates increase significantly with age due to reduced immunity and the increased likelihood of existing chronic conditions and yet most older persons in Uganda are poor and barely surviving.He added on that “most of them cannot afford modern disinfectants, liquids, wipes, gels and creams containing alcohol or ordinary soap. In related development Pastor Aaron Mutebi of Entebbe Miracle Centre church, Entebbe Mayorful Fabrice Rulinda, Imperial group of hotels CEO Karim Hirji donated different food stuffs including 500 liters of fuel,posho,sugar and beans. Entebbe Mayoral hopeful Fabrice Rulinda said that the” fuel will facilitate the transportation of pregnant mothers to medicare centers during this lock-down.
