As the political momentum boils up, different individuals and personalities are gaining appetite to contest for different political posts and vacancies ahead of the 2021 scientific polls.
The science politics is attracting numbers to prove their worth and commitment to the electorates as the World is choking with the global pandemic. Our political experts are on ground to report live and direct on the political trail across the country. In a special report we have a compiled report on who is contesting for the top job at the division ‘A’ head offices in Entebbe.
Ten different faces have been lined up to contest for the divisional chairmanship currently occupied by Micheal Kabwama Mutebi Nyamayalwo of NRM party now contesting for Mayorship. In the list from the ruling party five faces were presented and these include Jane Scholastic Baguma,Wamala Richard,Farouk Mutatya Muyimbwa,Abiine John,Tamale Asuman and three names from other parties were presented. And these include Andrew Wani and Ssekawooya Arafat of the Democratic Party plus independent candidate Achiles Kiwanuka also former deputy chairperson.
The divisional seat is now waiting for a vibrant political figure to spear head it as the municipality banks on city status. There are many questions put forward but one biggest question stands ‘Who’ will be the next divisional chairperson and will the ruling party retain its seat following the ambush of the opposition candidates who want to hijack the seat from the NRM party. The ruling party has a lot of home-work to retain the seat with lots of choices to choose from the best candidate for the divisional seat.
And one of the hot cakes is one Jane Scholastic Baguma, a medical practioner whose dream is to advocate for the change we need for a better Entebbe. She’s financially muscled unlike many of her competitors whose financial status is under question marks.
Her political journey can only be frustrated by the party supporters but she has the will to be the next division chairperson although much threat could be from the former councilors whose role in the divisional politics is looked at with much attention.
