Court presided over by Entebbe Chief Magistrate Mary Kaitesi Kisakye on Friday convicted Charles Bikaba, the NRM mobilizer for
Nakiwogo/Banga zone in Entebbe Municipality to 2years in Kigo prison after he was found guilty of fleecing Shs 20m in a fake land
transaction. The Magistrate also gave the convict an alternative to
pay the complainant Shs 18m and failure to pay he serves 24 months in
jail.
The convict was convicted after prosecution adduced sufficient
evidence pinning him down to participating in a dirty land deal in
which he and two others on run conned Shs 20m from Joninah Nakamya, the Democratic Party mobilizer in Kitoro Central ward.

Prosecution told court that on December 19, 2011 at 9am at
Banga/Nakiwogo village in Entebbe Municipality, Charles Bikaba
connived with Derrick Wagoba (seller) and Martin Edemu (land broker) both on run and conned Shs 20m from Joninah Nakamya alias Nina, the Democratic Party (DP) Mobilizer in Kitoro Central ward. Prosecution evidence also indicated that the convict Bikaba intentionally issued a purchase agreement acknowledging that Derrick Wagoba had sold his piece of land at a tune of Shs 20m to Joninah Nakamya.
However after acknowledging the fake land transaction, the convict
went ahead and alerted the sitting tenants that he had received info
that conmen were plotting to grab their land. So when the complainant went to fence off the land she was almost clobbered by the mob who accused her of attempting to grab residents land. She reported the matter to Entebbe police station which in turn arrested the convict for obtaining money by false pretense
