
Two candidates from the ruling party are battling up with several others for the mayor-ship seat in Entebbe.
The duo from the ruling NRM party are racing for the top seat currently occupied by Vincent Kayanja Depaul of the Democratic Party now seeking for third term.
The outgoing division ‘A’ chairperson Michele Kabwama Mutebi and city businessman Fabrice Rulinda are the two contenders from the ruling party that have put their capability and credentials on table to contest for the mayoral seat ahead of 2021 scientific general elections.
This follows after the third contender, Herman Kasozi Kiruwero pulling out of the heated race to give space to the political giants to wrestle in the party primaries.
It’s not clear how the secret deal was reached to between Herman Kasozi Kiruwero and Fabrice Rulinda recently.
Rulinda also former parliamentary aspirant has bounced back on the political scene after having pulling-out of the 2016 political storm over health affairs.
Several other candidates have been lined up for the mayoral seat including former area parliamentarian Muhammad Kawuma now carrying the People Power flag.
Tempers are high for the mayoral race ahead of the scientific elections as the NRM party is fighting tooth and nail to uproot Mayor Vincent Kayanja Depaul of the Democratic Party from office after two terms expire.
Kayanja’s come back to office is raising dust with mixed feelings after breaking the party doctrines and running the party like his own family.
Several democrats have quit the party because selfish interests and internal squabbles that stem from the top leadership to grass root.
