The National Organization of Trade Union Chairman Usher Wilson Owere has raised a red flag against companies and organizations firing workers during this period of time after several months in lock down. This follows after the National Aviation Services formerly ENHAS firing hundreds of workers from their jobs during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Owere has responded using his social media platform that laying-off workers means putting young people out of jobs at a time when the country is trying to respond to the global pandemic choking several countries. The union chairman is bitter with the aviation company authorities after ‘laying off’ several workers. He appealed to the president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to quickly intervene and stop the organization from firing workers like madness. This follows after the NAS/ENHAS company general manager Nouamana Zahouan firing several workers including the security manager Olivia Namuwonge over abuse of office. Reliable sources have revealed that the former security officer has threatened to sue the aviation company in a letter dated July 14, 2020 from Galisonga &Co. Advocates and given the company 14days to respond.
