Three female Nkumba University Guild Presidents have ruled the academic tower since it started. Deborah Asasira, Madina Zalwango and Kemirembe Ronah have been voted the best female guild presidents with administrative tools to man student’s affairs at the Education centre in Entebbe. The new female university guild boss floored and caned her rivals including Nabatanzi Moureen (204 votes), NRM’s Mpuuga Enock (198 votes), DP’s Kirumira Jonathan (63 votes), Twesigye Nickson (59 votes), Kiptoo Trikoi Simon (14 votes), Walusansa Stafford (10 votes), Mulejenzi Ivan (5 votes). Kemirembe’s win shocked everyone including the university authorities in the last minute.
She was declared winner of the university guild seat by the Electoral commissioner Alex Baguma after a tight heated race among NRM’s Mpuuga Enock and Nabatanzi Moureen of the ‘Ekitone ‘ fame. Kemirembe was sworn in recently at a special function attended by the university vice chancellor Professor Hannington Ssegendo.
