Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone’s mother Mrs. Proscovia Musoke has blamed National Unity Platform (NUP) boss Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine for her son’s loss in the recent mayoral race that saw incumbent Erias Lukwago retake his seat.
According to Mrs Musoke, Chameleone’s misfortunes only started when Bobi Wine denied him the National Unity Platform ticket.
Appearing for BBS TV’s Round About gossip show, Chameleone’s mother said that her son’s loss in the race is directly linked to having been denied the NUP ticket.
She revealed that Chameleone’s decision to join politics and contest as Kampala Lord Mayor was informed and inspired by Bobi Wine’s victory in the Kyadondo East MP election.

“Mayanja shared with me his plans of contesting for the Kampala Lord Mayoral race sometime back when he was still dropping many musical hits. He, however, let it go just like that. But when he saw his brother Bobi Wine making it in the political life, he got inspired and made up his mind to contest for the position,” Mrs Musoke disclosed.
She also revealed that Chameleone, having been inspired by Bobi Wine and decided to join him, he was hurt when he was denied the opportunity to carry the party’s flag in the race, prompting him to contest independently.
She added, “I felt really annoyed when my son was denied the party’s flag but had nothing to do about it.”
