Musicians Racheal Namiiro and Gertrude Nalule have resolved their longstanding misunderstandings over the latter’s song ‘Tofumita Lindazi’
Earlier in February this year, Gertrude Nalule expressed her disappointment with Namiiro for performing her ‘Tofumita Lindazi’ song without permission.
This saw Nalule reach out to the musicians’ association stakeholders like DJ Kikoffira and Phina Masanyalaze who wrote letters summoning Namiiro about the copyright infringement but she refused to comply.
Earlier today, however, the duo held a meeting with Phina Masanyalaze at UMA Offices at the National Theatre, where they addressed the matters regarding the song.
It is here that the two agreed that they make a remix of the song, with Namiiro being the sole funder of the project.
Racheal Namiiro further paid a fine of an undisclosed amount of money to Gertrude Nalule for performing the song illegally.
Gertrude Nalule expressed gratitude and forgiveness to Racheal Namiiro for complying and pledged to take part in the forthcoming song remix ‘Tofumita Lindazi’ song remix.
