
Endogo Ya Baba Bar and Canaan Pub located in Kitooro were on Friday shut down by the Entebbe Municipal Council Acting Town Clerk Dan Fred Lutaaya following several complaints from the neighbourhood and public in Kitooro that the two bars have been making a lot of noise during their night open air musical shows and entertainments.
Mr. Lutaaya inspected the two bars and indeed discovered that they have been operating in a very filthy environment and under poor hygiene and have been a health risk to the neighborhood and Public in Kitooro.
“Council has carried out inspection of your premises and found them lacking in Sanitation facilities, Operational Noise Control facilities and Ventilation. I hereby declare your business closed and any such licenses and permits thereof withdrawn forthwith till there is certified compliance to basic infrastructural obligations in above with related laws of the Public Health Act, NEMA Act and Trade Licensing Act. Any defiance to the order will attract a penalty of Shs1m payable to Division (B) collection Account in Stanbic Bank”, Mr. Lutaaya’s letter shutting down the bars reads.

Meanwhile Town Clerk Charles Magumba revealed that many more churches and bars that do not meet the required standards will be shut down because of several complaints from international guests and pilots who now prefer to reside in Lubowa because of excessive Noise from bars and churches in Entebbe.
“Many of the high end apartments and supermarkets in Entebbe are losing business with international clients because of noise from bars and churches which are also sources of insecurity. We shall continue to crack down on the bars and churches that operate with a lot of impunity and violate the set guidelines,” Magumba told entebbenews.
