Residents of Lugonjo Nakiwogo on Monday turned rowdy and bitter and blocked the main road heading to Nakiwogo trading with garbage. This follows after the municipal garbage trucks failing to collect the garbage for the last several weeks.The residents ganged up and dumped garbage in the middle of the road out after municipal trucks breaking down. Kasozi Edward, the deputy market chairman pointed fingers at the municipal authorities turning a deaf ear over the irritating garbage heaps around the market. The municipal authorities were put on trigger point in two days to sort out the mess . Stanley Namayirira, the division ‘B’ chairman said that garbage trucks could reach the Nkumba dumping site due to the heavy rains and bad weather. Mayor Kayanja Vicent De-paul, condemned the act of residents dumping garbage in the road out of ignorance and pledged to reach-out to the relevant authorities to sort out the problem.
