
The Busiro South MP- elect Peter Sematimba is counting his days in parliament on fingers following a court petition filed by his rival and former parliamentary aspirant, Stephen Sekigozi challenging his win. This follows after the Democratic party diehard gave Sematimba also NRM party
flag bearer less than two weeks to quit former Hon. Joseph Balikuddembe parliamentary seat over alleged fake academic qualifications and documents. Sekigozi alleges that Pastor Sematimba only holds a certificate issued by the East African Examinations Council in 1978, which cannot be equated to the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examinations, which is the minimum requirement for parliamentary election nominations. Sekigozi accuses the Electoral Commission of conniving with Sematimba to flout several sections of the Parliamentary Elections
Act although Sematimba has an Ordinary Level certificate from Kings College Buddo, a pre-medicine transcript from Asuza Pacific University and a diploma in electrical and computer technology from Pacific Coast Technical Institute, both in the United States of America.
