The development comes hardly a week after police in Entebbe arrested a man for kidnapping and thereafter murdering his neighbor’s six-year-old child.
Police in Mukono are holding a woman for allegedly selling her daughter to a witch doctor, who later killed her in a suspected ritual murder.
Hellen Akiteng was arrested after preliminary investigations pinned her to the murder of the nine-year-old girl. The body was later found dumped in a pit latrine in Busoke village in Mukono district.
By press time details around the incident were still scanty. However, Charles Mansio Twine, Criminal Investigations Department spokesperson, said they have arrested three more people believed to be witchdoctors to help with the investigations.
He identified them as Ronald Semujju, Alex Kizito and another identified only as Fred.

The man who was identified as Moses Kaye, demanded a ransom of sh4m, but killed and later buried the child’s body in a bush after the parents failed to fulfill his ransom conditions in time.
The Annual Police Crimes report for 2020 shows that 4.7 percent of the cases reported in 2020 were a result of child-related offences.
