Journalists from several media houses in Kampala are regretting and cursing why they were born to suffer in this world after they were starved by Foreign Affairs Minister Asuman Kiyingi at Entebbe International Airport a week ago.
The poor scribes who arrived at the Airport at 6pm to cover the arrival of the Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Jawad Zarif were kept waiting in the VIP lounge until 9pm when he arrived. The scribes who arrived at the Airport on empty stomachs and dry throats approached officials from the foreign affairs ministry to organize for them something to eat and drink but they pretended to be busy sorting out different issues.
After several hours of yawning and dozing in the VIP Lounge their intestines began making a lot of noise, the poor chaps confronted Minister Kiyingi and told him that they were seriously hungry and needed something to eat and drink. The minister too paid a deaf ear as he kept himself busy making several phone calls and ignored the journalist’s plea for something to eat and drink. Now some of the journalists have sworn never to talk to Minister Kiyingi again after starving and disrespecting them.
