Ugandan singer Ronald Magada, popularly known as Maro, speaks out for the first time after the traumatic accident he was involved in at the end of April 2025 in Zambia. The singer clarified that he was not seriously harmed and he was never in a coma, as some reports suggested.
Maro revealed he was in the car with his daughter, a friend, and his wife. The singer’s daughter was trapped in the damaged car for over 30 minutes, and the locals came to their aid.
The singer says it was a profoundly emotional moment for him because he felt helpless watching his daughter stuck in the car with broken glass in her eyes. He says the impact could have been much worse if his daughter hadn’t had a seat belt.
The rest of the passengers didn’t get serious injuries except for his friend’s wife, who had to be airlifted to Lusaka for advanced medical treatment.

His absence from social media was because he lost his phone during the accident and was also dealing with the trauma he suffered from the incident. He was also dealing with his daughter’s recovery and a police case.
