Kampala Metropolitan Police is investigating a case of murder of a man who was found dead at the shores of Lake Victoria in Entebbe.
The deceased is said to be a resident of Mukono and was reported missing on AS Ref 92/17/9/19 at Mukono police station on Friday.According to police, on Thursday, the Defence Secretary of Katabi-Kitibulu, Isma Barak logged in a report at Katabi Police indicating that there was a body of unidentified man who was found dead at the shores of the lake.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson said that a homicide team visited the scene and took the body to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
He added that later a lady identified as Jackie Tumusiime reported to Entebbe police that the deceased was her brother.She identified him as Simon Odur Akena, 34, and a resident of Mukono.
She said he disappeared from Ntinda on 14/9/2019 and a case of missing person was reported to police.
Onyango said that police immediately started investigating a case of murder in regard to the incident.
“We are now investigating murder, we appeal to whoever has information in regard to this incident to pass it in confidence to the nearest police station,” said Onyango.”,
