A 19 year old man identified as Godwin AmanyaMukama a resident of Bukandekande village, Kitala Zone, Katabi Sub County is in hot soup and cursing like hell behind bars at Entebbe Police Station. This follows after he was arrested on Thursday night for masquerading as a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDAF) Soldier and masterminding lots of robberies around Kitala Zone. The crook was finally arrested by a couple of crime preventers and UPDAF Soldiers who have been hunting for him for the last couple of weeks. The crafty fella was arrested after residents in Kitala Zone complained bitterly to police that the crook together with his gang of goons have been terrorizing the whole area late in the night plus breaking into people’s houses and vanishing into thin air with stolen property including DVD Players, Television Sets (TV’s) and Mobile Phones. Highly placed sources revealed that the crook narrowly missed being arrested a few weeks ago after he was caught fidgeting with a building wire mesh that he had stolen from a construction site late in the night in Kitala Zone. The crook has been purporting to be a Uganda People’s Defence Airforce (UPDAF) Soldier attached to the Entebbe Airport Air force base. He was charged with unlawful possession of government stores at Mpala Police station under SD Ref 31/17/03/2016.
