Democratic Party Councilor Kibirige Tadeo has called it quit from the party after falling out with the top leadership in Entebbe.
The Lugonjo area councilor has quit the party and switched the goal-post to the African Libertarian Union (ALU) party with a new post we are yet to establish with 3 months into office.
The local councilor made the revelation on Tuesday after falling-out with the Democratic Party leadership headed by Mayor Vicent Kayanja Depaul. The duo fell-out over irreconcilable differences after Kayanja seeking another term in office breaking the party constitution that says two terms.
This sparked a bitter-row after Kayanja refusing to step down for his rival Stanley Namayirira also the out going Division ‘B’ chairperson. Namayirira was eye-ing the mayoral seat ahead of the 2021 political campaign trail but his efforts have been frustrated by the outgoing mayor Kayanja.
Kayanja will be battling for the same seat with several others including three NRM party candidates including Fabrice Rulinda, Herman Kiruwero and Micheal Kabwama Mutebi. Kayanja has served two terms in office and contesting for another term in office.
