Two senior politicians are fighting neck to neck over the multi million government project in Entebbe. Micheal Kabwama Mutebi also Div ‘A’ chairman and Mayor Vicent Kayanja Depaul are bitter with each other over the division ‘A’ offices under construction. The division chairman and mayor are at logger heads over the supervisory role on several government projects. The spark of the trouble stems from the UNRA compensation amounting to over five hundred million shillings (shs504) that was lobbied. The funds were channeled towards the construction of new division offices including a public library. The storied building with over thirty offices has sparked a bitter row with the municipal authorities after budgeting shs654, 379, 832/= towards its completion. The municipal authorities claim to have added up over one hundred millions (shs150M) before awarding the contract to Stone Construction which has become a conflict of interest with no available evidence to the division authorities. Kabwama pointed fingers at Kayanja over using his office for personal gains. He questioned the accountability of the shs650M from the Chinese government towards the construction of a show-room at the municipal offices and it has become a dream.
