Fishermen and traders at Nakiwogo landing site have been warned not to get closer to the MV Kalangala ferry  before it’s  being  fumigated  over coronavirus. The  remarks were made by the Nakiwogo-Banga area chairman Joseph Kaigwa  on Saturday  after  the  arrival  of  the  ferry back into the  country  from  the neighboring country  of  Tanzania where  the  ferry has  taken  over two months under routine maintainace and servicing. The area chairman warned fishermen not to get next to the ferry before it’s sprayed because many of them could fall victims of excitement. This follows after six different persons aboard  the ferry  where  suspected  to be victims of corona virus  debut covid-19. These include Kalule Ronald, Kavuma, Bwazibwa Martin, Kato Henry,Byakatonda Dickson and Mubiru Peter .All these different person have been quarantined for 14days under the presidential directive on the fight against the global  pandemic. The ferry arrived at the Nakiwogo landing site at 7am with some few passengers on board. In related development, it’s not yet clear when the ferry will start it’s operation since the country is under lockdown with lots of businesses suspended following the presidential directive that started in March 2020. And more so the docking station for the ferry is in a sorry state and floods that have cut-off the biggest area of the landing site including the market.
