Kumi Resident District Commissioner Matanda Hussein Kato has been arrested and detained at Entebbe police after conniving with Turkish national in Gold deal. The senior government officer was arrested from a hotel in Kampala earlier this week after conniving with one Mustafa Semith in a gold mining deal. The government officer used his office to front the foreign national into the mining deal using a defunct company with ‘faked’  documents  to trade  in Mubende district. Matanda was arrested after mis-using his office and assaulting a police officer with six other counts including forgery, criminal tress pass, threatening violence, corruption and spreading harmful propaganda plus sabotaging government programs. We have reliably established that Matanda illegally acquired powers of attorney and court orders to run a defunct mining company with his colleague that came into the country as a  tourist and later started trading into agricultural supplies. The claimed business man  is on the run after mining deal turning sour and arresting the government official behind the fishy deal. Police Mineral Protection Unit commissioner Jessica Kaigomba during the press conference revealed that the government officer has been playing hard to get and using different  government offices including the IGP’s office.
