    KCCA Panthers Edge Out UCU Canons in Nail-Biting Finish

    In an entertaining match at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, the KCCA Panthers clinched a narrow victory against the UCU Canons, with a final score of 72-70.
    The game played on Wednesday 29th May saw a high level of intensity from both teams, captivating the 300-strong audience from the tip-off at 9:00 pm.
    Despite an initial lead by the UCU Canons, the KCCA Panthers displayed remarkable resilience, clawing their way back into contention in the latter periods of the game.
    In the first quarter, the UCU Canons took an early lead, outscoring the Panthers 25-18. However, the Panthers fought back in the second quarter, narrowing the gap as they trailed 43-42 at halftime.
    The momentum shifted once again in the third quarter, with the Panthers taking a slim lead of 61-58. In the tense final period, the Panthers held on to their lead, ultimately securing the victory with a final score of 72-70.
    Notable performances from Caesar Kizito, who scored 18 points and secured 2 rebounds, alongside Okumu Demunu Emmanuel, with 13 points and an impressive 9 rebounds, fueled the Panthers’ comeback.
    However, the UCU Canons put up a formidable fight, with Kayiira Joel leading the charge with 13 points and an impressive 10 rebounds. Despite their efforts, they fell just short of securing the win.
    The match came down to the wire, with the KCCA Panthers maintaining a narrow lead in the final moments, ultimately securing the win by a mere two points.
    The UCU Canons who are fourth placed have lost two games in a row and three in the last five games including 2 losses by three or less points.
    With the victory, the KCCA Panthers have now won three of their last five games and are third with 29 points.
