

Katabi residents and leaders have joined hands to improve their community hygiene and surrounding areas for better health in Entebbe. This following after hundreds of residents and leaders joining hands in a community initiative for safe clean water and better health. The community drive was engineered by the area LC 1 chairperson Deborah Kasamba and other local leaders including the mayoral hopeful Micheal Kabwama Mutebi also the area LC 3 chairperson. The area chairperson with residents walked house to house while cleaning up the trenches and compound area in a campaign to promote better health. Residents walked in groups cleaning up the whole area including clearing the busy area of Nagawa water spring that served hundreds of locals. The area chairperson requested the area local authorities to develop the water spring that serves the local community. ‘The water spring needs to be fence ringed from animals contaminating the water also construct hard rock-stones around the water area, said the area chairman. The mayoral hopeful Micheal Mutebi said that his hands are still tied with a limited budget and added that if voted into office, he will make it one of the priorities. The community initiative was attended by several politicians including parliamentary hopeful Patience Mubangizi, three division chairpersons including Jane Scholastica Baguma ,Farouk Mutatya Muyimbwa and Abiine John.The area councilor Christine Naggayi called on for collective efforts towards community drive and to advised over bad politics.
