The Police in Kazo District have in their custody a 30 years old man in connection with the murder of his 3 year old son all residents of Buremba Central Cell, Kijooha Ward in Buremba Town Council.
The Rwizi Regional Police Spokesman Samson Kasasira has identified the suspect as Nuwahereza Tumuramye John, father to the deceased Mwesigye Johnson.
Kasasira told journalists that the incident took place on Wednesday January 26th 2022 and was reported by the deceased’s grandmother Bahairaho Federesi who found the Mwesigye in the garden with a deep cut on the neck bleeding and rushed him to nearby clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Behairaho told the Police that earlier in the day, Nuwahereza who is now a prime suspect requested to go to collect maize with the deceased and another 4 years old juvenile but while the suspect and Vivian returned home, the deceased was no where to be seen.
The grandmother narrated that knowing that the father (now suspect) had seasonal mental illness, she decided to go and search for her grandson in the garden where she found him staggering while bleeding from the neck.
Kasasira said that the body of the deceased was taken to Kazo Health Center IV Mortuary for postmortem examination and the father was arrested to help in investigations. The case was registered at Kazo Central Police Station under reference number CRB 114/2022 to help in investigations.
