Kampala city lawyer Seryazi Wilberforce is back into the political limelight to contest for the Entebbe Mp seat.
The former parliamentary aspirant has bounced back in politics on a different party ticket after quitting the Forum for Democratic Change party of Rtd Col Kizza Besigye.
The renowned city lawyer has switched goal post to contest on the Alliance for National Transformation party ticket after falling out with the FDC secretariat at Najjanakumbi. It’s now official that the former parliamentary aspirant has quit the FDC to join presidential hopeful Mugisha Muntu’s party.
Seryazi has previously participated in the previous general elections and lost the battle after the FDC party frustrating his political ambitions in Entebbe.
In the last general elections in 2016, he pushed city lawyer and FDC candidate Alex Gitta Mulibanga for the parliamentary seat and the due lost it to the ruling NRM party flag bearer Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako.
Tumusime Bikaako was declared winner with 8786 votes beating her closest opponent Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa (8337 votes) in a heated contest with several others including FDC’s Gitta Alex 2371 votes, Madinah Zalwango 1874votes, Walusimbi Abubaker 1635 votes, Patience Mubangizi 1063 votes,Charles Kirumira 872votes,John Whyte Baleke 541votes,Achilles Kiwanuka 503 votes, Kale Micheal 338 votes,Amon Reeves Muzoora (RIP)212 votes, Arthur Ssenfuma 214votes and one Ambrose Kantutu 135 votes.
In the coming 2021 scientific general elections , Seryazi will be contesting with several other candidates including Shyka Stephen Gashaija (NRM), Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa (People Power),Kale Micheal(DP),Joyce Namuli Nabatta(independent), Walusimbi Abubaker(FDC) plus others.
