Media personality and events host MC Kats has expressed deep regret for introducing Fille to the rough music industry, which he says affected her.
Fille was among the top female artists, getting expensive bookings and topping charts. MC Kats confessed to having fought hard to see that she outshone Irene Ntale, who was a major threat then.
At the peak of her career, Kats said she was overpowered by fame and resorted to drugs. Explaining the cause of this, Kats explained that there was a lot of pressure in the industry that Fille was not prepared for, and in the end, she found a way of navigating through it by using drugs.
“Have you ever sat down and regretted something you did? It is good, but you regret it. I regret this at this time because, as Ugandans, we do not prepare for this industry. And some people are not naturally mentally and emotionally strong for this industry. In the process of navigating it, they end up being overpowered. Friends influence them, drugs, lack of hit songs, competition from their fellows, among others,” he said.
Kats recalled one day when he received huge funding to shoot “Where Have You Been At,” which was meant to feature Radio & Weasel. But because Fille was under the influence, she missed the appointment.

To account for the money, Kats, out of panic, had to go to producer Artin, get Dokta Brain to write the song, and get Jeff to confirm it. When it came time for the video shoot with Great Make Films, the money had run out, and he had to sell his piece of land to fund it.
“My regret is that I should have left her in church and sung Gospel music. Because I got her from Miracle Center, I would have left her to sing for God. Fille never used to drink, and she learnt it,” he said.
