It was a somber mood at St. John’s Church as hundreds of Mourners bid farewell to President Museveni’s pilot the Late Captain Daniel Musinguzi who succumbed to spinal cord complications on Thursday June 11 at Kampala International Hospital.
His siblings described him as a man of detail and a loving person who lived a simple life. They also described him as a man who always had big ideas and was dedicated to his job.
Reading his eulogy on tablet Christian Musinguzi who spoke on behalf of his brothers described their fallen Dad as a well seasoned Born again Christian who was well versed with the word of God.
“Dad had an awesome relationship with God. He taught us very many things and the most important of all he taught us how to love God and how to live exemplary and spiritual lives” a sorrowful Christian Musinguzi told the mourners.
“He always loved serving others and never missed a church service and we are happy that he is going to be resting in the right place because he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal lord and savior” Christian Musinguzi added.
With her sons and relatives standing by her side Late Captain Musinguzi’s widow Hannah Musinguzi described her fallen husband as a man who had a large heart and wanted to serve people.
“We met at Soroti flying School and got married in 1993. Our marriage and intimate friendship grew for the last 28 years. He was such a committed man who had a huge smile” she told the mourners.
“We appreciated each other, we shared our lives together. He was a humble person who loved his children and truly loved me. I was his queen, I’ll miss him” she broke down and concluded her eulogy.
The statehouse condolence message that delivered by comptroller Lucy Nakyobe described Late Captain Daniel Musinguzi as an exceptionally committed and dedicated staff who loved his Job.
“We send our heartfelt and deepest condolences to the family of the Late Capt. Musinguzi. Our sympathies are with his wife and children. He joined Statehouse as a pilot on November 1 2000 and because of his exceptional service he was elevated to captain on December 11 2009 a position he held until his death” the condolence message read.
Among the high profile mourners who were present to pay their last respects included Bunyoro Affairs State Minister Ernest Kiiza, former Uganda Capital Markets Authority Boss Japheth Kato, Uganda Road Fund Boss Eng. Dr Michael Odong, Bullisa county MP Mukitaale Birahwa, state minister for Trade and Antiquities David Wakikona, Entebbe Municipality Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul, Sam Muheeza represented CAA where Hannah is employed and Maj. Gen Ali Kiiza whom he worked with and mentored him. The deceased who will be laid to rest tomorrow in Bulindi Hoima his ancestral home is survived by Six children.
