A senior government officer at the Entebbe Municipal Council terminal building is shedding crocodile tears after being slapped on the head by ‘Bafeere’.
Engineer, Brian Kabunga is cursing like hell after being conned by street smarts in a fake cement deal.
The flamboyant young man was conned 20 liters of fuel and shs 150,000 by ‘conmen’ purporting to sell to him 50 bags of cement on black market.
We have established that some ‘fake’ builder walked to the Engineer’s office and briefed him about the fishy deal.
He immediately ordered his right hand ‘man’ to go with the fake builder at the construction site to collect the 50 bags of cement.
But before walking out of Kabunga’s office, the fake builder asked for 20 liters of fuel to transport the cement bags to his destination.
The government officer signed him a fuel-chit to fuel station opposite the Flight Motel along Entebbe road.
Sources close to Eng. Brian Kabunga told us that unidentified man who was well dressed up in the attires of builders with a safety head cover helmet approached his office and briefed him about the cement deal and the cost of each bag of cement.
‘Excited about the cost of the bag of cement at Shs 15,000, he immediately ordered his right hand
person to go with the fake builder at the construction site to collect the 50 bags of cement.
Sources further say when the fake builder got both fuel and the money, he boarded a motorcycle and fled away leaving Kabunga’s right hand man at the filing station. Later Eng. Kabunga tried to telephone the fake builder but he could not answer his repeated calls until he switched off his phone.Watch the space!
