    Hon Tumusiime Blows Trumpet As NRM Breeds New Faces

    Five candidates have been fronted battle up with Hon Rosemary Tumusiiime Bikaako, the biggest fire weapon in the NRM party camp in Entebbe.

    The party secretariat has lined up six (6) candidates for the parliamentary race and these include Hon Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako (incumbent), former Nkumba university guild Madina Zalwango, former LC5 district councilor Patience Mubangizi, Peace Biyiringiro Salamuka, Stephen Shyka Gashaija and  Tukei Florence to battle up in the party primaries scheduled for today at different polling stations in Entebbe.

    The party diehard and supporters will on Friday vote their best choice of candidate for the parliamentary race ahead of the 2021 general scientific elections.

    The parliamentary hopeful candidates have presented their credentials to the electorates and waiting for the D-day also voting day.

    In the heated contest, Hon Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako has the ball in the hands to win the party support following her first term in parliament with over 60% of her manifesto accomplished in her term in parliament.

    Tumusiime also leading commander of the NRM brigade is ready to rumble with the new political faces having served five (5) years in parliament since 2016 and now seeking for another in office.

    “She replaced former area parliamentary Muhammad Kawuma who quit the Democratic Party after having served two (2) terms in parliament”.

    We have highly established that in the previous elections three faces have been at the front line to take up the parliamentary seat and these include Patience Mubangizi, Peace Biyiringiro Salamuka and Madina Zalwango.

    In the 2011 election, Hon Muhammad Kawuma emerged winner for the parliamentary seat  with 13,727 votes as Patience Mubangizi became second  with 6226 votes followed by William Wilberforce Seryazi (209 votes) while Hawah Nakibuule got only 4votes.

    Peace Samulaka Biyiringiro has previously participated in the parliamentary election and lost the battle at the front line with a strong hold at the Virus ward.

    In the 2016 general elections, Madina Zalwango as independent garnered 1874votes after contesting with eleven (11) other candidates in a heated race including   Rosemary Tumusiime with 8786votes,Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa  8337 votes ,FDC’s Gitta Alex 2371votes, Walusimbi Abubaker 1635votes,Patience Mubangizi 1063 votes,Charles Kirumira  872 votes, John Baleke  541 votes, Archilles Kiwanuka 503 votes ,Kalle Michael 338 votes, the late Muzoora  Amon Reeves 212 votes , Arthur Ssenfuma  214 votes and one Ambrose Kantutu 135 votes.

    Wakiso District Returning officer  Sarah Bukirwa  declared  Rosemary  Tumusiime  Bikaako  as the winner for the Entebbe Mp after flooring  her  opponents  with only  four hundred and  forty nine (449) votes.

    Two candidates for the 2021 parliamentary race have been put on litmus test having joined the battle of the titanic. Stephen Shyaka Gashaija and Tukei Florence have joined the political arena to  serve the electorates.
