Several traders operating in Kitooro Market were left shedding tears and cursing why they were born to suffer after the market was burnt to ashes in the early morning hours of Saturday. It’s not yet clear what or who caused the fire however different sources operating in Kitooro revealed that the fire started between 4am and 5am and over 50 traders were affected by the fire that gutted their kiosks and burnt them to ashes. The affected market traders mainly food vendors and butchers were left shedding tears after their kiosks plus their hard earned merchandise and property was burnt beyond recognition.

The poor traders pointed fingers at a one Kawuki who was seen and heard in the market at around 5pm on Friday announcing and warning all the market vendors not to dare set their feet at the Kiwafu Play Ground where the vendors will temporarily be relocated for the next two years as the Kitooro Market is set to be redeveloped into a modern market starting February 1, 2017 with funding from world Bank. The vendors revealed that Kawuki was chased away from the market over his reckless announcement and they suspect some dark hearted people for setting their kiosks on fire.
