Special Forces Commander, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has hailed the elite force for its “self-reliant spirit” which he said was unprecedented.
Muhoozi spoke this Friday while commissioning several SFC structures built by the force’s construction regiment.
“Every few months we commission structures which is a good thing,” said Muhoozi.
Some of the commissioned structures are based in Nsamizi.
These include a Communication Centre, a fully-equipped healthcare unit, a general canteen and the deputy commander’s house.
At Julius Kambarage barracks, Muhoozi commissioned a dormitory and ‘Kainerugaba administration block’ named after him for his contribution in building the elite force.

The development comes months after President Museveni said the army should undertake its own construction projects to avoid high contractor costs and grow its skilled force.
The President on November 7, 2020 commissioned the new Special Forces Command headquarters in Entebbe named “Gen. Y. K. Museveni House”.
The three-storey facility, built by the SFC construction unit, cost Shs3.48b as contrasted with Shs9b quoted by an external contractor.
He also commissioned newly built dormitories for soldiers, renovated houses for non-commissioned officers, gun shades and a 30,000-litre fuel pump.
The president urged the construction unit, comprising 1,000 soldiers, to polish their skills and gain experience which could see the entity morph into an international construction company.

In his address today, Muhoozi congratulated the newly promoted officers and encouraged others to remain patient for the right time.
In attendance were Commanding Officers and Directors among other officers.
