Uganda Internal Affairs Minister and former UPDF Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Aronda Nyakairima mysteriously passed away on Saturday Morning aboard a flight from South Korea via Dubai to Uganda. This was the end of the gallant fallen comrade. The government top minister aged 56 years made his last appearance and statement in the Ugandan parliament on 3rd September before God taking his life. At the time of his death the late Gen. Aronda Nyakairima was among the ten army representatives in parliament a position he had held since 1996.
Gen. Aronda was born in July 1959 in Rukungiri District and joined the army in 1982 after completing his first degree in political science at Makerere University. In 2003 he was appointed as the UPDF Chief of Defence forces a position he served until 2013 when he was appointed Internal Affairs minister and replaced by Gen. Katumba Wamala. Gen. Aronda was highly respected with no dirt to his name. He commanded much respect and always followed his heart.
