City Lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi Kiwanuka has now dragged Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to court again alleging that he gave false information while applying for Driving Permit.
This comes days after the DPP’s office forcefully took over and then dropped Mabiziri’s case in which he challenged the academic papers of the Opposition NUP leader.
In the charge sheet he presented to Nakawa Magistrates court this week (under private prosecution), Mabirizi alleges on the 3rd August 2017 at Ministry of Works and Transport, the accused provided false Information that he was born on 12th February 1982, and was issued with driving permit.
The lawyer also preferred a count of obtaining Registration by false pretense from the same allegations.
“The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works & Transport letter dated September 10 2020 informed me that the accused is a holder of Driving Permit Class B issued on 03th August 2017 indicating his date of birth as 2nd February 1982, contrary to his own signed.” Reads part of the court documents
Mabirizi also contends that after looking through some of Kyagulanyi’s academic documents, he realized that it was deliberate that he had cut his age, already declared to Public Offices at least 4 times.
