Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Sports Awards (December 2020 Winners):

  • Golf: Joseph Kasozi (Kinyara Golf Club)
  • Cricket: Christine Anayo (Soroti Challenge Cricket Club)
  • Football: Oscar Mawa (Uganda U-17, Gombe High and KCCA Sports Academy)

The Fortebet Real Stars monthly sports awards for the month of December 2020 were officially given out to three personalities on Tuesday, 29th December at Copper Chimney Restaurant in Kampala.

Footballer Oscar Mawa, golfer Joseph Kasozi and cricketer Christine Anayo were rewarded with plaques designed by Jude Colour Solutions and given cash rewards, as well.

Mawa was top scorer in the 2020 CECAFA U-17 championship hosted at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu, Rwanda with 6 goals when Uganda retained the trophy to return for the continental finals for the second successive time.

He came top ahead of KCCA’s Brian Aheebwa and Mawogola Ssaza team goalkeeper Michael Lutaaya.

In golf, Kasozi finished second in the 2020 Uganda Amateurs Golf Open championship, behind champion John Lejrma from Kenya.

Kasozi beat Christopher Baguma (Entebbe Golf Club) and Michael Alunga (Uganda Golf Club – Kampala) who were third and fourth respectively in the same competition.

Female cricketer Christine Anayo of Soroti Challenge Cricket Club was picked ahead of Immaculate Nakisuyi and Rachel Ntono.

Anayo won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the inaugural edition of the Ladies Elite League.

These monthly awards are organized by Real Stars Sports Agency headed by sports journalist Isaac Mukasa.

Uganda’s High Commissioner to Canada Hon. Joy Ruth Acheng was the chief guest during the December 2020 crowning ceremony.
