Five Nkumba university students are battling up for the guild seat at the main campus in Entebbe. The guild race is underway later this with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) fronting Opira Otaremwa to counter battle with other candidates including People Power candidates Faruku Mubiru and Lwazi Paddy plus two independent candidates Isaac Muhwezi and Sunday Amagule. The highly contested election scheduled to take place on March 14th . 
According to the EC Chairman Patrick Ipalat, for one to qualify to contest for guild seat, the following were to be considered including full payment of all tuition fees,No retakes and Payment of non-refundable application fee of sh400,000 each. Opira Otaremwa is a second year student of law with Isaac Muhwezi (third year student) and Sunday Amagule from the same school while Lwazi Paddy is from the school of social sciences with Faruku Mubiru. Otaremwa with his slogan “Nothing about us without us” is what Otaremwa has fronted as his slogan and believes he can fulfill his pledges including the Nkumba bus-project. Sunday Amagule believes he can lead fellow students to the ‘promised land’ despite being a political-virgin.(By PEACOCK KAWEESA)
