Several residents, business men and women were on Tuesday evening left shedding tears after fire gutted their houses and make-shift kiosks at the Kasenyi Landing Site. All businesses that mainly included bars, lodges, restaurants and business kiosks that covered approximately 1.5 acres were all burnt to ashes in the fire that also claimed some lives.
It’s not yet clear what could have caused the fire however some Kasenyi residents revealed that the fire could have started in one of the bu-lodges where prostitutes reside and hang out. The fire brigade team rushed to the scene and stopped the blazing fire but unfortunately a few items were saved.
The Police fire team has embarked on investigations to ascertain what really caused the fire and will also carry out a search on Wednesday to ascertain how many victims lost their lives in the blazing fire.
