Two power engines are to revive the freezing party back to the limelight in the political genetics of Entebbe.
Abubaker Walusimbi and Patrick Gyagenda will be raising the flag high in the coming scientific general elections slated for earlier next for different politics offices.
It’s no question that the duo will be contesting for different offices including the parliamentary seat and divisional seat at zone ‘B’.
The duo will be one of those few credible leaders to contest for the top office seats in the metropolitan capital suburbs ahead of the 2021 general scientific elections.
It’s on record that the duo have previously participated in all general elections and fairly scored to their best including the last general election where Abubaker Walusimbi contested as an independent candidate in the parliamentary race with several other candidates.
In 2016, NRM party Rosemary Tumusime Bikaako was declared winner with 8786 votes beating her closest opponent Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa(8337 votes) in a heated contest with several others including FDC’s Gitta Alex 2371 votes,Madinah Zalwango 1874votes,Walusimbi Abubaker 1635 votes, Patience Mubangizi 1063 votes,Charles Kirumira 872votes,John Whyte Baleke 541votes,Achilles Kiwanuka 503 votes, Kale Micheal 338 votes,Amon Reeves Muzoora (RIP)212 votes, Arthur Ssenfuma 214votes and one Ambrose Kantutu 135 votes.
The heated political race saw the second in line run to court contesting the race that ended up clouding on the closest opponent Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa with a choking debt amounting to millions of shillings from court fees to damages.
And this time round FDC has fronted Abubaker Walusimbi to run the steering wheel to the promised land having participated in the previous general election as an independent candidate. It’s for this reason that the party has invested its trust in Walusimbi Abubaker to run the party activities and revive party brand following the quitting of the Olivia Nassuna, Malinga Francis,Seryazi Wilberforce, Alex Gitta plus others that have walked their own ways.
