Former parliamentarian Muhammed Kawuma is charged up and campaigning door to door for the mayoral seat in Entebbe municipality.
The former area parliamentarian is ready to oust Vincent Kayanja Depaul of the Democratic Party out of office ahead of next year’s general scientific elections.
Kawuma revealed during his campaign trail that his “the best candidate amongst all candidates standing for this position and his leadership history speaks for him despite his personnel weakness”.
Kawuma attacked Mayor Kayanja after serving two terms in office and ‘arrogantly’’ refusing to step-down to give room to other potentials including outgoing divisional ‘A’ chairman Stanley Namayirira popularly known as ‘Salongo Kapeere’ plus others.
“This issue of leaders coming to over stay in power is what we fighting for to change this country” said Muhammad during the street campaign in Kitooro trading centre outskirts.
He added that if elected or voted into office he will promote women financial independence and youth empowerment including a youth training centre for school drop-outs.
He noted that leaders who never groom others are a good as useless with an example of former division chairman Anthony Segujja that was forced to exile on kyeyo and others whose leadership potentialities have been frustrated by corrupted minded leaders.
Leaders should leave a legacy and invest a lot of time in preparing the youth for a better tomorrow than corrupting their minds and it’s record that i personally groomed several young persons before i quit the Democratic Party and it’s documented.
He pledged to inject over shs700M of his budget to cater for youth trainings to equip them with business skills and other tools as start-up capital for their own businesses.
Muhammad Kawuma’s name will be on the ballot paper with several others including Micheal Kabwama(NRM),Fabrice Rulinda(IND), Oliva Nasuuna(NUP), Ken Simbwa(ANT) and others we are to identify.
