Former lands Minister Daniel Omara Atubo is living a simple and down to earth life ever since Late Amos Kaguta’s son dropped him from his well paying cabinet job. The former lands minister was knifed by the big man after he was caned in the 2011 elections by little known staunch UPC diehard Deusdedit Jacinto Ogwal. Since then he has retreated to living a quiet life and keeping a low profile. Two weeks ago the former Otuke county legislator was spotted at the launch of University of Kisubi (Unik) formerly Kisubi Brothers University College where graduands were awarded with masters degrees in different academic disciplines. The 68 year old aging lawyer battled with sleep during the graduation ceremony that was presided over by former finance minister Maria Kiwanuka. He kept dozing off and excusing himself to wash his face in the washrooms. The quiet former legislator later walked away from the ceremony without the events Emcee recognizing his presence.
Other invited guests included veteran Educationist Prof. John Sebuwufu whose dress code shocked guests. The old man wore stockings in open shoes and left several guests murmuring around and wondering whether he was hiding an illness in his feet. Other high profiled guests included Makerere University vice chancellor Prof. John Ddumba Ssentamu who was named the chairperson of the university council while Brother Peter Kazekulya was named the university chancellor.
