Two residents of Entebbe Municipality Walugembe William and Julius Otayi unveiled an aircraft at the Mayor’s Garden on Friday August 29th that they had been assembling for six months. Walugembe said that the idea to assemble an aircraft came after Makerere University students had manufactured an electric vehicle ‘Kiira EV4”. ‘When I saw that MUK students had manufactured a vehicle, I was inspired and decided to assemble a DC-10 Ethiopian Airlines Aircraft” he revealed.
He added that it cost them over Shs.6m to research and assemble the Aircraft. He appealed for support from President Museveni to enable him further his skills.
Walugembe appealed to Ugandans to have a positive attitude and confidence in themselves adding that Ugandans can also do amazing things. He appealed to the youth to be creative and avoid laziness. The aircraft is yet to be registered and launched.
