Opposition youth activists in Entebbe identified as Kibirige Tadeo (Lugonjo Nakiwogo LC3 Councilor) and Daisy Aloyo (Kiwafu West LC3 Councilor) both Democratic Party members were on Monday netted by Police after they staged a demo over the rampant women killings in Katabi Town Council. The councilors were arrested alongside a one Mugabi Gracious and Sam Batambira plus others while they walked with placards around Entebbe protesting over the women killings. Police cops swung into action and arrested the activists who were thrown behind bars at Entebbe Police Station.
We have highly established that Police warned the activists and councilors not to waste their time demonstrating however the activists remained big-headed and went on with the Demo. A source at Entebbe Police revealed that Police immediately called off the demo on Sunday because they got info that the opposition youth activists had their own hidden agenda and motives.
Several other rowdy councilors including Sekikubo Mary, bummy Jackie Kimera and Nampijja Viola who participated in the demo scattered into thin air after Police swung into action and their whereabouts are not yet known.
Several Democratic Party members including Michael Kakembo Mbwatekamwa, Maggwa Ssali, Twaha Kikomeko and self styled Member of Parliament Emmanuel Kasagga camped at Entebbe Police Station over the arrested activists.
Maggwa Ssali, the Democratic Party Spokesperson in Entebbe condemned the arrest of the activists adding that Police antagonized the peaceful demonstration over the rampant murders of women in Katabi Town Council.
