The municipal authorities have been faulted over shoddy works on several road projects in Entebbe municipality now growing to city come 2021.
A special report forwarded to the ministry of local government has put the municipal authorities under query over the shoddy works on different roads in the division ‘A’ zone area.
The roads under query include Yusufu lule road and the Katabi Busambaga road stretching over 2kms.
A report by one Kalinda was forwarded to the public accounts committee under the ministry of local government a couple of weeks of ago to audit the municipal authorities over the shoddy road works on the government funded roads.
The report highlighted how the municipal authorities supervised the government funded roads with over one billion shillings sunk into the project.
Highly placed sources have revealed the municipal engineer identified as Brian Kabunga has been faulted over the shoddy roads and misappropriation of government funds.
The report by a whistle blower pinned the municipal authorities over the misappropriated government funds on the two roads despite the funding from the Uganda Road Fund and local revenue from Entebbe Municipal.
We have highly established that the town clerk Charles Magumba filed his audit report as regards to the whistle blowers’ report that highly faults the municipal authorities over the poor shoddy works along the Yusuf Lule road and Katabi Busambaga roads.
The blame-game has pointed fingers at the municipal engineer with several officials that were behind the questionable supervisory role. In the town clerk’s submission, he clearly indicates how the global pandemic greatly affected several government programs and projects including the roads under query.
