
As the global world continues to feel the devastating effects caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, Entebbe Municipal Council continues to Soldier on as uncertainty remains regarding defeating the virus that has brought the world on its knees.
Entebbe residents have been obedient in abiding with government’s directives and restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of the virus.
Entebbe Municipal Council together with Entebbe Grade B Hospital and other government institutions rose up to the challenge and set up the first local task force that has been at the frontline of fighting and curbing the spread of the virus in Entebbe. The job is tough for Entebbe Municipal Council as it continues to feel the impact because of the revenue lost as a result of the lockdown.
At the frontline against curbing the spread of COVID-19, the owners and management of the facilities that provided quarantine centers in Entebbe have been cooperative and as a result, there hasn’t been any positive case reported in Entebbe.

With the uncertainty remaining, Entebbe Grade B Hospital is still partially closed to cater for the COVID-19 pandemic and Entebbe residents can access health services at Katabi HCIV, Katabi Airforce Health Center, and Kigungu Health Center and other private medical facilities that remain open.
Entebbe Municipal Council together with Wakiso, Mukono, Mpigi, and Kampala, greater Kampala response team was formed and ambulance services are being coordinated well. As regards the collection and disposal of solid waste during the lockdown, Entebbe Municipal Council continues to manage the collection of waste from the community daily.
Because of the current travel restrictions, Entebbe Municipal Council garbage collection team is small and Entebbe residents have been urged to among others observe the following; Keeping the waste at home until the Entebbe Municipal Council trucks come as per the designated days and each division has its own waste truck which will pass in the different cells (villages) to pick the waste. The residents have been urged to avoid dumping the waste along the roads, streets, and drainages because no one will pick it. Entebbe residents have also been urged to keep the waste in the waste bags until the garbage collection trucks come.
Meanwhile, as regards the waste at central market, Nakiwogo and Kigungu, it will be picked by the SKIP loaders.
Entebbe Municipal Council continues to urge the residents to utilize the handwashing facilities in markets and public places. In adherence with government’s directives, Entebbe Municipal Council has been able to close all daily and weekly open markets, sensitized the public on handwashing and in addition, all non-essential staff were advised to stay at home and Entebbe Municipal Council stopped receiving hard copy letters and advised clients to go through Entebbe Municipal Council one-stop center
