Entebbe municipality Member of Parliament, Hon Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako is in the lead and contesting for the parliamentary seat for another term in office.
Tumusiime has turned a threat to the ruling party flag bearer Stephen Shyka Gashaija in the coming scientific general elections slated for later next month 2021.
Tumusiime has gained political momentum to wrestle her rivals in coming parliamentary elections and these including Stephen Shyka Gashaija(NRM),Kale Micheal(DP),Micheal Kakembo(NUP),Seryazi Wilberforce(ANT),Nabatta Joyce(IND),Walusimbi Abubaker(FDC),Livingstone Jaramogi(IND) plus others we are yet to identify.
The latest reports reaching our desks have it that the incumbent Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako is getting to the top again during this festive season and a few weeks away to the general elections.
Tumusiime’s name will be on the ballot paper having lost the party flag to city businessman Stephen Shyka Gashaija now under pressure to prove his political supremacy.
She’s bouncing back into the political murky waters after losing the NRM party ball during the party primaries and lost the yellow flag like that to Stephen Shyka Gashaija.
Shyka the only male species in the female race scored 2,970 votes against Hon. Tumusiime 1,250 votes in a heated race including former Nkumba guild president Madinah Zalwango(583votes),Patience Mubangizi (239 votes), Florence Tukei (196votes) and Peace Biyingiro Salamuka (195 votes).
In the 2016 general elections, former parliamentary aspirant Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa of the Democratic Party (then) dragged Hon. Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako to court contesting her win and lost the battle under file no No.5 of 2017 arising from election petition no. 09 of 2016.
Shyka has lots of ‘stained’question marks to prove his political muscle against the incumbent having promised the electorates brand new ambulances to improve on health service delivery in constituency.
The opposition side is stuck and staggering with two political fire brands including people power strong force Micheal Kakembo (NUP) and Kale Micheal (DP).
It will not be a smooth road for Hon Tumusiime this time round having lost the ruling party flag despite her ground performance.
