The Incumbent Entebbe Division B Boda Boda Boss (EDIBBA) Joseph Katugunka is having sleepless nights and intensifying head ache after People Power movement plotting to oust him out of office before the year ends. The fella is suffering from a hell of stress and ulcers after a rival Boda Boda group linked to the People Power Movement giving him an ultimatum to vacate the office as soon as possible.
The rival Boda Boda group is code-named ‘Team Kaleevu’ (Twebereremu) and is led by Ssegirinya Sulaiman Kaleevu who is plotting to oust Katugunka. Other members include Nkwasiibwe David (Vice Chairman), Kirumira Jamil (Treasurer), Ssambwa Tadeo (Secretary), Walusimbi Ismail (Defence), Nkondo Samuel (Publicity). These men are accusing Katunguka of misappropriating Boda Boda funds for his own selfish interests however Katunguka says that the rival group is just on their propaganda game because they have failed to provide any evidence.
“I’m not scared of the people power rival group. All they do is just engage in propaganda. I’ve told them to bring evidence but they have failed and now they want to use propaganda and tell lies but it’s unfortunate that they have brought politics into the Boda Boda business. We are supposed to be non-partisan because we serve everyone regardless of political party affiliation. We were supposed to have conducted the elections in May but because of the people power politics, the elections have been postponed until further notice”, said Katunguka.
Every after three years, the Boda Boda association in Entebbe Division (B) holds elections and the last elections were held in 2016. According to Joseph Katunguka, the Boda Boda Association in Entebbe Division (B) has over 600 active members.
