Five staunch Democratic Party diehards have been kicked-out like tennis balls from contesting for the 2021 general elections.

The group headed by the party spokes person Maggwa Ssali and others including Bayo Frank,Basange Lubogo, Sserwadda Shafik, Assumpta Nakamya and councilor Byansi Francis have been floored following a meeting with the democrats in Entebbe.

The disgruntled group of leaders have stepped aside to give room to their own breeds including Andrew Kaggwa Wani  for the division ‘A’ seat, outgoing Deputy mayor Richard Ssekyondo, Jackie Kimera, Bawonga Kasawuli,Kyeyune Semanda plus others.

Highly placed sources have revealed the parliamentary seat is vacant with two members waiting on the bench and these include formerly parliamentary hopeful Kale Micheal and one Juma Mukasa to replace former mayoral aide Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa.

Kakembo quit the Democratic Party to promote the People Power movement now NUP, after he lost the 2016 parliamentary  general elections. Kakembo joins several others that have turned ‘rebels’ to the party and these include councilor Arafat Ssekawooya, Kibirige Tadeo and others we are to identify.
