Chinese scientists have developed a groundbreaking “bone glue” capable of repairing fractures in as little as three minutes, a discovery that could revolutionize orthopedic medicine.
The adhesive, created by researchers at Tsinghua University, mimics the natural composition of human bone and can rapidly bond fractured tissues with exceptional strength.
According to the team, the material is biocompatible, meaning it can safely integrate with human tissue without causing harmful side effects.
In lab tests, the glue demonstrated the ability to repair broken bones in animals within minutes, significantly reducing recovery time compared to traditional surgical fixation methods such as screws or metal plates.
The researchers explained that the innovation relies on a biomimetic mineralization process, enabling the adhesive to form strong chemical bonds similar to natural bone regeneration.
They believe this technology could eventually replace or complement current orthopedic treatments, offering a faster, less invasive way to heal fractures.
Beyond orthopedics, scientists are exploring additional applications in dental repair, bone grafting, and reconstructive surgery.
The breakthrough has attracted global attention and could mark a new era in regenerative medicine and trauma care.
