Entebbe International Airport will this year be expanded to accommodate the growing number of Airlines that are plying the Entebbe Route. According to Civil Aviation Authority Managing Director Rama Makuza they have received over $400m from several multinational lenders and Government to be invested in the expansion of Entebbe International Airport.
“This year we are launching an expansion program of the Airport and we hope to re-construct and widen the run-ways which have now expired. They are close twenty years old and they need to replaced and widened from the current 60m to 75m” Makuza revealed.
“We shall also replace the Air Navigation systems and also upgrade the security lighting” he added.
