For the past few years that Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has collaborated with Entebbe Hospital in the simulated emergency exercises at Entebbe International Airport, they have realized how highly professional and committed the Entebbe Hospital staff are and as a result, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has taken a step forward in solidifying and cementing its working partnership and collaboration with Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital, one that will mutually benefit both institutions and the Ugandan Population.
Speaking at the handover of proceeds to Entebbe Hospital on Wednesday that were raised from the Aviation Run that was held last year to celebrate the 75 years of existence of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), UCAA Director-General Prof. David Kakuba thanked the Entebbe Hospital Staff for their selflessness and invaluable contribution that they offer against all economic hardships.
Our contribution is being done to appreciate your selfless service and invaluable contribution you make against all economic hardships. We (UCAA) are happy to be part of you, we are your partners and we are ready to support the hospital when called upon as long as the need is in our means and capacity. Entebbe Hospital has proved to be a friend indeed and we shall continue to regard you as our partners and make sure we move and journey together. ‘Our doors’ (UCAA) are open to the hospital and we hope your doors (Entebbe Hospital) will continue to be open to our people, Prof. Kakuba emphasized.
Prof. Kakuba added;
As UCAA we are obliged to give back to the community in which we operate through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy and we regard the hospital as an important facility as far as UCAA is concerned. We (UCAA) are an organization that operates in a forest of risks, anytime we can get an emergency, anytime we can get crashes and Entebbe Hospital is a very useful neighbor whose mandate covers many stakeholders and Entebbe Airport community is one of the biggest consumers of the hospital services. Some of the proceeds that we are giving to Entebbe Hospital include a fridge, oxygen concentrator, Patient monitor, mattresses and a couple of medical sundries including boxes of cotton and gauze.

Meanwhile, on his part, Mr. Mpanga Robert, the Entebbe Hospital administrator thanked UCAA for their generous contribution and pledged on behalf of the hospital to keep the machines in good shape and in good working condition. Mr. Mpanga called upon other institutions and organizations to also support the hospital.
Entebbe Hospital was recently elevated from a district hospital that was serving an estimated population of about 1.2 million people in Wakiso District to a regional referral hospital serving an estimated population of about 4 million people mainly from Kalangala, Buvuma, Buikwe, Mukono, Mpigi, and Wakiso inclusive.
