

It was around this period of time when the municipal authorities gave evacuation letters to close business at the Kitooro Taxi Park in Entebbe.
The news shocked traders after a two weeks ultimatum to vacate immediately and carry all the belongings and property.
Hundreds of traders were shocked when the town clerk sent migrating letters for the new developments of the taxi park under a government grant.
The taxi park was sealed off and all traders evacuated to different corners of the world.
The estimated shs9bn government project was started on and it has contractors 4years down the road for all the construction to be completed the World Bank aided project.
“Traders were promised after the completion of the new taxi park, they will re-turn back despite the fact all traders signed memorandum letters from the municipal council and other government agencies”,said source.
Traders have kept on waiting for the re-opening of the taxi park after most of their businesses shutting down.
And to make matters worse even COVID hit the same businesses to the bone marrow including the capital.
“The president earlier this year (2021 made his first foot step at the multi billion shillings taxi park project”,said report.
Wandera Mangeni also traders’ representative is puzzled about the official re-opening of the taxi park and added that they are waiting for the official communication Charles Magumba.
Mean while we have highly established the municipal council permitted a private developer to erect more shopper’s outlets.
